Thomas Fanara (born 24 April 1981 in Annecy, Haute-Savoie) is a French alpine skier specialisting in Giant Slalom. Fanara is currently participating in the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup. Fanara has appeared at two Winter Olympics and three FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, and has twice finished on the podium of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup.

Fanara appeared in three FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in the giant slalom discipline. In 2005 in Åre, Sweden, he finishing in 16th position. In 2009 in Val d'Isère, France, he did not finish. In 2011 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, he finished 6th.[1] In addition, he participated in the Team Event at the 2009 World Championships, earning a bronze medal.
Fanara has started over 45 World cup races, mostly in giant slalom but also in slalom. He has been on the podium twice, finishing third at Alta Badia and at Adelboden during the 2010-2011 season.[2] In December 2007, he fell and hurt himself in the second run after winning the first run of a race in Bad Kleinkirchheim. In December 2009, he hurt himself badly again after a spectacular fall during a race in Beaver Creek.[3]
Fanara reached the podium of French national championships four times, all in giant slalom. In 2005 he was third; in 2006 he was second; and he won in 2007 and 2009.[4][5]
